Emmitt Igo
Emmitt Igo, a native of Richmond, works for Bechtel Parson Blue Grass as the Project Security Manager. Emmitt retired in October 2008 after a 39-year Federal career. His government service included 4 year active duty in the Navy and a variety of civilian roles in operations and security at the Blue Grass Army Depot and Blue Grass Chemical Activity. He also is a Kentucky Army National Guard retiree after 21 years of service.
Emmitt had an extensive background, serving in the Kentucky Army National Guard. He served as a Combat Engineering Senior Sergeant for over six years and as a Military Police Operations Sergeant for his last three years of service.
Emmitt is active in youth programs, serving as director and coach of the Richmond Golden Glove boxing program that operates at the City of Richmond recreation center. He also serves as board member on Richmond Parks and Recreation Board.
He lives in Richmond with his wife, Edna. They have one son Carlos and five grandchildren.
