Patricia (Tricia) Cole Milner
Her recent retirement after serving as a Special Education Teacher in the Fayette County Public School system for 26 years working with severe/profound disAbilities, gives Tricia a solid understanding of the needs of persons with disAbilities. This experience is invaluable to the Bluegrass Technology Center and helps educate Board Members regarding specific needs for those the Center serves.
Tricia’s teaching experience includes working at the following schools: Fern Creek Elementary and Slaughter Elementary, in Louisville; and the Bluegrass School, Breckinridge Elementary, Dixie Elementary; Julius Marks Elementary, and Picadome Elementary, in Lexington. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky holding both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Education, with additional graduate studies from the University of Louisville.
As a member and former Deacon of First Presbyterian Church; a member of the Presbyterian Women-Circle 4; a Youth Mission Team member and chaperone; a Sunday school teacher; a current board member-Repairer’s Lexington; a member of the Junior League of Lexington; a Delta Delta Delta sorority alumnae; and a member of the University of Kentucky Alumnae Association, Tricia is very involved in her community as a volunteer.
Her hobbies are being with family, swimming, reading, chaperoning annual mission trips with First Presbyterian youth, nutrition, gardening, travel, swimming, and decorating. Tricia is the mother of three sons, and is married to Stephen D. Milner. Tricia says “I have a profound interest in children and adults with significant disAbilities, and the various ways, methods, strategies and equipment/devices that may impact their lives in a positive manner.” She serves on the Recruiting and Nominating Committee, at BTC.
