Wendy Dixie
With a bachelors degree in Computer Science, a Master’s in Business Administration, and her current work toward a Master’s in Computer Science Technology, Wendy Dixie is a much appreciated asset at Bluegrass Technology Center.
Our Computer Refurbishing program is placing refurbished computers into the homes of people with disAbilities who are unable to afford new computers, and Wendy is a big part of transitioning this equipment into their homes. She is also helping with the computer system needs for the Center itself.
Wendy’s experience includes serving as the Financial Secretary for Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and as Chairperson for their Newsletter and Technology Committees. She is a certified Literacy/GED Tudor, and has participated in many other volunteer activities, such as: Voter Registration; the Leaders of Tomorrow Program for National Black MBA Associates; American Diabetes Association; Juvenile Diabetes Association; National Alliance for the Mentally Ill Walk; Asthma Walk; Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky – Patient Block Party Committee; and the Angel Tree Toy Sort.
Her volunteer experience and over 14 years in the Information Technology field are of great value to BTC. She is employed at Kentucky State University as an Information Technology Customer Service Manager, and she serves on the BTC Communications and Refurbishing Committees.
